Tormsdale

Lomond Energy is managing the development of Tormsdale Wind Farm for Swedish developer Arise AB.

Located 18km to the south of Thurso on the north coast of Scotland, Tormsdale is planned next to a cluster of five operating windfarms within an area now established as wind energy hub with excellent wind resource, reinforced electricity grid and good access to road and sea transport.

Once built, it is estimated that the energy output of Tormsdale Wind Farm will be at least 50% of the combined output of the existing Causeymire, Achlachan, Bad a Cheo and Halsary windfarms, from adding just 12 modern, large-rotor turbines to the existing cluster of 52.

The Tormsdale Wind Farm website provides further details of the project and charts its development progress through the Scottish Government's Section 36 permitting process.
