Cruivie
1 turbine | 67m to blade tip | 500kW
Cruivie wind turbine was developed in partnership with Temporis Wind and granted planning permission by Fife Council's Local Review Body in February 2013, having previously been refused consent.
Lomond Energy managed the project from feasibility, through the screening stage and throughout the planning application stage to consent.
During the planning application phase Lomond Energy successfully overcame an SNH (now NatureScot) objection in regard to pink footed geese through a targeted bird survey which demonstrated that the turbine would not present a significant risk to the geese; this allowed SNH to remove it's objection.
Ministry of Defence (MoD) concerns in regard to potential visibility of the wind turbine to the RAF Leuchars radar was removed by reducing the proposed wind turbine height from 77m to 67m and relocating the turbine a short distance.
